Under our slogan 'Wear your martial art', this brand expresses fun and beauty of martial art in a witty way.
I've been training number of martial arts in my whole life so far, now I am training Judo for 8 years.
It's been always bummer for me that I could not find any fashion item which fits to my taste to express my martial artistic identity and easy-going personality. So I decided to make my own brand. I named the brand 'OSABUM'.
OSABUM means master 'Oh' which is my last name, and the brand name is my nickname in the Judo club at the same time where I am training.
I wanted to spread-out my philosophy on martial art and in the larger range of all the sports we enjoy. Because I don't have brilliant talent in martial art or fighting, OSABUM focuses on the joy and consistency of training itself rather than how good or not in terms of accomplishment of skill.
Some people have prejudice that martial art is only allowed to strong people, or tend to think related with violence. Indeed, numbers of brands about martial arts focuses on the strength or aggressiveness that martial art training culture has. So I wanted to show and interpret the variety of faces martial arts have in funny and witty way.
Started with graphic printed t-shirt in Korea via online store, and got some good feedbacks. So I decided to become more courageous and now open a store for martial arts fans from the world.
